Pathaan is a 2023 film starring Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone & John Abraham. This film is the fourth part of the YRF Spy Universe. The other movies of the Spy universe are Ek Tha Tiger (2012), Tiger Zinda Hai (2017) & War (2019). With Pathaan, Shah Rukh Khan is making a comeback to the big screen, after almost 4 years post his last release Zero in 2018.
This movie marks the 4th collaboration between Deepika Padukone and Shah Rukh Khan, starting from the former’s debut film Om Shanti Om. The film, shot across Europe, Russia, Afghanistan & UAE, has reportedly been produced with a budget of approximately ₹250 Crores. A major sequence of the movie was shot in Lake Baikal, Siberia, thus becoming the 1st Indian Film to be shot there. Salman Khan also makes a cameo appearance in the film reprising the role of Avinash Singh aka “Tiger'' from Ek Tha Tiger & Tiger Zinda Hai. Ashutosh Rana also reprises his role of Colonel Sunil Luthra from War (2019).

When will Pathaan Movie Release Online?
April 2023. It is speculated that the movie will release on Amazon Prime Video, Amazon’s OTT platform in April 2023.

The Pathan Trailer released on 10th January 2023 and created a lot of buzz across the country. The trailer gained 3.6 million views within 3 hours of its release. You can watch the trailer here.
Controversy
The first song from the album, Besharam Rang released on 12th December 2023 and has garnered over 239 million views to date. But the immense popularity of the song also brought a lot of criticism from across the country. Major controversy arises due to Deepika’s scenes wearing swimsuits and certain sections of people objecting to the bold scenes shown in the video. Another objection came from Hindutva groups claiming the saffron coloured swimsuit that Deepika wore in the song hurts their religious feeling.
The CBFC intervened in the matter and directed YRF to change certain scenes and words used thus granting a U/A certificate in the process. The makers were asked to make a total 10 cuts in the movie making the final length as 2:26 Hrs.
Reception
Over 5 Lakh tickets were booked in advance breaking the previous highest grossing record of KGF- Chapter 2 and is only placed 2nd to advance booking of Baahubali – The Conclusion. Trade experts predict that the 1st day earnings would cross the 40 Cr mark easily.
Reviews
While the reviews are still rolling in, with an equal number of critics praising it for the return of mass Bollywood magic, others have rated it mediocre with classic action sequences and a predictable storyline.
